The grocery store is my favorite place to shop. AND finding new, healthy food options makes me even more excited than my Aunt Chelle gets when she finds 75% off of markdowns at Dillards! (Trust me, that’s A LOT of excitement)
Lately, I have been obsessing over several new finds that I just can’t help but share!
Pasta has never really been my go-to carb of choice UNTIL I found Banza. I love adding salsa, olives and chicken along with it for a healthy, Italian-themed meal! It’s made with chick-peas so it’s gluten-free. It also has a solid amount of protein which makes it a great option if you follow a plant-based diet. (I am not vegan, but thought I would throw that in there for those of you who are!)
I used to LOVE making wraps as a when I was in high school. Then, I went to college and started bodybuilding, which resulted in my diet becoming much more basic and wraps were out. I recently came across Mikey’s Grain-Free Tortillas and HAD to give them a try, and I’m so glad I did! I simply spread some dairy-free cheese on top with some turkey and it like a taste of the good ole days! I was pleasantly surprised that they don’t fall apart, yet they aren’t super tough either. 10/10 in my book for sure!
This Bama girl has been obsessed with apple butter straight out of the womb! I stopped eating it sometime in high school though because of all the added sugar. You can imagine when I found Eden’s Apple Butter has NO ADDED SUGAR, I nearly peed myself! I have it almost daily spread on top of a rice cake. It’s the best, quick snack!
Calling all coffee-lovers! I honestly can’t tell you the last time I went a day without coffee, and confession: I’m a bit of a coffee snob. Lately, I have been having some issues with bloating and indigestion so my functional medicine doctor suggested trying a low-acid coffee. Puroast hazelnut stole my heart! If you are looking for a low-acid option, I highly recommend this one!
I have been on the hunt for a good dairy-free yogurt, and honestly, Lavva Yogurt is better than any regular yogurt I have ever had! The vanilla flavor is my go-to, but strawberry and blueberry are also really delicious. Most of the time I plan to add it into my smoothies, but I usually end up eating it by itself while I prep all of the other ingredients!
This is one of those things I have been putting on EVERYTHING! I spread it on gluten-free crackers, dip raw veggies in it, use it on top of dinner bowls, and basically anything else you can think of. There aren’t many ingredients and all of them are organic. For two tablespoons, it only has 2g of fat and 2g of carbs! If you have a Trader Joe’s near you, definitely snag this gem!
I discovered this creamy version of cashew milk and it has been such a game-changer for my smoothies! The ingredients are very similar to regular and the calories are the exact same too!
If you try any of these yummy health food finds, I hope you love them as much as I do, and be sure to tag me on Instagram @taylerjordanfit!
Until next time, friend!
